Finn Digital recently launched a trade show focused mobile scavenger hunt game that leverages Microsoft Tag barcode technology, free mobile barcode scan software and the public desire to win. The gamification of BoothTag allows players to accumulate points by scanning barcodes associated with and displayed at tradeshow booths, or barcodes displayed on the mobile phone of any registered player. After careful evaluation, Finn Digital selected to build a custom mobile barcode game because the emerging mobile barcode technology was appropriate for the business technology theme of the tradeshow and applied directly to the business issue of creating excitement and generating traffic for all tradeshow areas. In addition, Finn Digital identified that the strong value provided by reports generated from trackable tradeshow scans would provide to trade show producers with attendee traffic analytics, showing most visited areas of the trade show floor and exposing high and low traffic volume ranges of time.
